Traditional Wooden Luggage / Steamer / Storage Trunk in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk for sale

Traditional Wooden Luggage / Steamer / Storage Trunk with Brass coloured vintage style fittings. Approximately 92cm (36.25") x 51cm (20") x 49.5cm (19.5"). This one has fully working hinges but no key. The inside is in reasonably good condition but does show the usual signs of having become damp at some point which is very common with these trunks and the paper lining is a bit scuffed in some places but both of these issues could be easily resolved by re-lining it. An area of the covering on the underside of the trunk has been repaired using thick tape which presumably covers a rip but this is of course not visible unless you turn the trunk upside down and it in no way affects the wooden structure of the chest underneath the covering. This is another stunning example of this style of trunk which could be used as a highly appealing dual purpose storage / coffee table. Collection from Bury St Edmunds.
